New Wine Arrivals
Just unloaded the following!! Stop by to see what you might like.

2005 BENNETT LANE RESERVE; Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
This release begins with aromas of cocoa, cherry and plum. Subtle hints of all spice, cedar and toffee develop in the glass as the wine opens. On the palate there are rich flavors of mocha, chocolate and raspberry that lead to an elegant finish, with layers of rich texture and incredible length. The fruit for this wine is sourced primarily from two of their favorite vineyards. The Taplin 2 block of Lewelling vineyard in St. Helena has been a main component of their Reserve Cabernet since its first bottling in 2002. Farmed by their vineyard manager Doug Wight, this vineyard always shows as the best of the best in their cellar. The newest component of this wine is their Lynch Family Vineyard, from owner Randy and Lisa's Estate in Calistoga.

2003 SHAFER HILLSIDE, Cabernet Sauvignon
Shafer's hillside vineyard produced a 2003 harvest of small, dark berries loaded with ripe, immense aromas and flavors. The aromas are rich and perfumy and the youthful wine fills the mouth with rich cassis, blackberry, toasty vanilla, mocha, herbs, and a seamless integration of soft, ripe Stags Leap District tannins. The wine feels expansive and juicy in the mouth and the flavors linger long after the glass is empty.
Hillside Select is aged a full four years prior to release (three years in Alliers and Troncais oak barrels and one year in the bottle). White enjoyable today, this wine will gain richness and maturity with up to 20 years of careful cellaring.

2004 SHAFER RELENTLESS Syrah
This is the sixth vintage of this field blend of Syrah and Petite Sirah and as the vines mature, the wine has evolved into a more complex style - aromas and flavors of blackberry, spice, chocolate, cedar, liqueur, and black licorice. Relentless will always be a blockbuster, but this release is continued evidence of a trend toward more layers of dark, rich aromas and flavors.

New Wine Arrivals

Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
Now in stock!!!
The 2004 vintage was the very last in which the Robert Mondavi Family was involved with the winery, and it produced probably the best Mondavi Reserve since the 1996. Comprising 86 percent Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this is a sensational wine from a classic vintage in Napa Valley. Winemaker Genevieve Janssens has brought new luster to this Napa stalwart, and the winery still has access to some of the valley's top Cabernet vineyards.
95 points from the Wine Spectator and #9 from the Wine Spectator's Top 100 List of 2007, where it was the top California Cabernet listed for the year! "Weaves together a complex array of ripe, rich currant, anise, smokey oak and black cherry. Dense, concentrated and persistent, with great depth and focus, ending with an amazingly long, richly flavored finish. Best from 2008 through 2018."
92 points from Robert Parker; "A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, which mostly comes from To-Kalon, has a relatively small production in this vintage. The wine has a dense purple color and a wonderful, sweet, almost St.-Julien like nose of licorice, red and black currants, cedar, and spice. Medium to full-bodied, elegant, but authoritatively flavored, this wine is still young, rich, and very fine."
